Job summary

The University of Tampa's Athletic Department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services. The position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and NATABOC-certified experience, with Florida licensure or eligibility. Responsibilities include evaluating injuries, on-field coverage, and coordinating referrals and insurance documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• One year of NATABOC certified experience required.
• Experience supervising student athletic trainers preferred.
• Florida licensed or eligible.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage time.
• Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to collaborate with college athletics and coaches.
• Familiarity with UT software like Workday and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.
• Review and document injuries.
• Provide referrals for medical care.
• Deliver on-field or on-court athletic training at practices and events.
• Manage insurance and documentation for medical care.
• Support a diverse, inclusive work environment and culture.
• Oversee insurance processing for athletic injuries.
