Job summary

Colgate University seeks a highly qualified Athletic Trainer for Club Sports (Part-Time) to deliver on-site medical care and oversee medical operations for designated club sports, primarily Rugby. The role operates under a licensed physician and includes administrative duties within Recreation Sports.

The position requires certification as an Athletic Trainer and a Bachelor's degree, with a Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site medical care for Rugby Preseason and possible regular-season coverage.
• Coordinates medical care operations for designated club sports.
• Oversees medical administrative responsibilities for Recreation Department.
• Holds primary medical contact for Men's and Women's Club Rugby; coordinates with university physicians.
• Coordinates post-concussion tests and return-to-play protocols.
• Submits injury reports and determines follow-up care directives.
• Communicates injuries to University medical staff, SHS, and the Recreation Department.
• Serves as liaison between coaches, student-athletes, administrators, physicians and parents; maintains communication with the University Physician.
• Provides department-wide guidance on policies for high-risk sports administration.
• Partners with coaches, student leaders and safety officers to complete paperwork, training and tests.
• Manages inventory for medical kits.
