Job summary

Granville Central Middle School in Stem, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach (to include Cheerleading). Under supervision, assist in the fair discharge of its obligations to students and staff, reporting to the head coach, school principal, and athletic director.

You will implement the established athletic policies, supervise staff and athletes, assist with transportation and event preparation, maintain discipline, monitor grades, and ensure safety and facility readiness.

Qualifications

• Must possess administrative and organizational skills and knowledge of Granville County Public Schools athletic policy and North Carolina Administrative Code.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a commercial driver's license with P and S endorsements and drive a school bus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with teaching established philosophy, skills, and techniques.
• Attend clinics as required and ensure adherence to policies.
• Maintain discipline and follow guidelines set by the head coach, school, and district.
• Assist in providing transportation and in preparation for events or practices.
• Ensure student athletes' grades and conduct are monitored and addressed.
• Be present at all practices and games and supervise athletes in authorized areas.
• Explain disciplinary procedures and contact the head coach immediately for infractions.
• Aid in maintaining locker rooms, sports equipment, and facility cleanliness.
