Job summary

McAllen Independent School District is seeking Part-Time At-Risk Professional Tutors for the 2026-27 school year. Positions include tutors at multiple campuses (McAllen HS, Nikki Rowe HS, De Leon MS, Escandon ES, Fields ES, Garza ES, Jackson ES, McAuliffe ES, Milam ES, Roosevelt ES).

Responsibilities include tutoring students not showing adequate progress and providing enrichment activities. 180 days, 3-4 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Bachelor\'s Degree - $19.00/hour or Bachelor\'s Degree & Valid Texas Teacher Certificate - $23.00
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Basic clerical skills; Knowledgeable of the subject; Good interpersonal skills
• Experience: Previous tutoring experience preferred

Responsibilities

• To provide tutoring instruction to students not showing adequate progress in core subject areas
• To provide enrichment activities for those students not in need of tutoring
