Job summary

Marlborough School in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Water Polo Coach to support the Head Coach with practices and games.

This part-time, non-exempt position requires a bachelor's degree and water polo coaching experience, with CPR/First Aid certification, and a flexible schedule. You will help develop training plans, ensure safety, and communicate with students, parents, and administrators throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
• Coaching experience in Water Polo at high school or club level.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of Water Polo techniques, strategies, and training methods.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in formulating objectives for the coming sport season.
• Attend all Athletic Department and League scheduled meetings as requested by the Head Coach/Athletic Department.
• Keep abreast of new ideas and techniques by attending clinics and workshops.
• Remain knowledgeable of rules and regulations concerning their sport, and keep abreast of changes.
• Assumes supervisory control over any team(s) as assigned by the Head Coach/Athletic Director.
• Ensure that facility regulations are understood and enforced.
• Emphasize safety precautions and uses accepted training and injury procedures.
• Conduct the team in an ethical manner during practice and in contests.
• Report outcome of contests to the Athletic Department.
• Instruct players on rules and rule changes, and new ideas and techniques.
• Provide the Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director with a copy of all general correspondence and bulletins to student athletes and parents.
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of Marlborough School.
• Reinforce all regulations of the School presented in the Marlborough Student Handbook of Expectations, as well as the Marlborough Coaching Handbook.
• Assist the Head Coach with proper care of equipment, facilities, and other duties as assigned.
• Assists with the systematic return of all school equipment/uniforms at the end of the season
