Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Manassas, VA is seeking an Assistant Teacher for a part-time, 3-5 hour daily role with no evenings or weekends. You will work with the lead teacher to support children's growth and provide a safe, engaging classroom environment for ages 16 months through 6 years.

Responsibilities include supervising children, guiding activities, communicating with parents, and maintaining classroom materials. A high school diploma is required; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Must meet state criteria for childcare employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 16 months - 6 years.
• Assist and support the lead teacher with supervision of children in the classroom while fostering an environment that will allow children to develop at their own pace.
• Work with individual and small groups of children as directed by the lead teacher.
• Create a rapport with the children and be responsive to their needs, guiding them through self-directed activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents to answer questions.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of the classroom, teaching materials and equipment.
