Job summary

Dollar Tree in Berea, Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and staff development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and processing directives while ensuring a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, team leadership, and hands-on involvement in payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention. Part-time hours are available at 40 West Bridge Street location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and keeping records (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
