The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is a key driver of sales and customer satisfaction within our retail stores. They are responsible for shaping a comprehensive store strategy aligned with our corporate values and mission, overseeing operational aspects including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and visual merchandising. The ASM collaborates to achieve store objectives and facilitates team development. Employees’ weekly hours will be adjusted to 32 or fewer based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Achieve personal and store sales goals, setting a positive example for the team and fostering sales skills development.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to enhance revenue while ensuring an exceptional customer experience and maintaining key performance indicators.
- Collect and manage client information, including phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses.
- Identify customer needs and address concerns promptly, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of store merchandise, pricing, and layout of the sales floor and stockroom.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping and visual merchandising to create an inviting store environment.
- Use proficiency in POS, CRM systems, and inventory management tools.
- Implement inventory security measures in accordance with the company's loss prevention program.
- Follow operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth and secure store operations.
Requirements
- Prior retail management experience, preferably 1+ years in Assistant Manager roles.
- Results-oriented with a strong sales focus, capable of leading and coaching team members.
- Positive, energetic, friendly, and engaging personality; willing to initiate customer interactions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with retail POS systems, Microsoft Office, email, etc.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 40 pounds; comfortable using ladders or stairs.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor employees, fostering a collaborative team environment.
