Job description

At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an amazing in-store experience for our customers and employees.

We’re looking for a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to help lead the store. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, recruiting, and developing the team. You’re adaptable and can handle anything that comes your way while driving sales and building relationships with customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support your Store Manager in achieving sales goals and targets.
  • Help recruit, develop, and retain a passionate team to run the store.
  • Create buzz and customer engagement through promotions, social media, and services like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
  • Provide leadership to ensure operational excellence, balancing operations, delegation, and customer service.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll, and associate schedules.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ about trends and customer feedback.
  • Use sales reports and data to guide strategies to meet sales goals.
  • Merchandise the store effectively, launching promotions on time.
  • Partner with your Store Manager to develop a high-performing, customer-focused team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 1-2 years of retail management experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus.
  • Proven success in leading teams; skills in communication, recruiting, operations, and team development.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations.
  • High school diploma or GED; degree is a bonus.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing retail environment.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.
