Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll support the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, helping fans find their favorite merchandise. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to assist in training new staff and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and excellent service.
• Step in and support store operations when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting leadership.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and operational procedures are followed.
• Process transactions at the register, promote add-on sales, and manage store benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Help maintain organized stockrooms and a tidy store environment.
• Contribute to building a collaborative, passionate team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any additional activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, with a passion for music and pop culture.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
