We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.
What You’ll Do
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return.
- Step in and step up when needed. You’ll cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when your Manager gets pulled away.
- You’ll open and close the store, as needed.
- Work the register; process sales transactions and use your fandom knowledge to drive add‑on sales using BOPIS and curbside pickup. You’ll close out the register and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
- Understand store sales plan, comp sales goals, and key KPIs: UPT and ADT.
- Assist with planogram changes including store map, wall, fixture, & merchandising mix.
- Communicate fashion & music trend information to management and respective HQ partners.
- Work with Store Management to prevent misuse of "spells" and wizardry around theft.
- Maintain the stock room and keep the store tidy.
- Help develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store.
- Any other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.
What You’ll Need
- At least 1 year of retail store experience.
- Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operations skills, and a drive to develop your team.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to navigate store layout, handle merchandise product using approved equipment, and pack/unpack boxes of merch that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
