Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to assist in training new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through your product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support store operations when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting leadership.
• Open and close the store as required, taking responsibility for store security and procedures.
• Operate the register, process sales, and use your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales, including BOPIS and curbside pickup options. Also, handle register closeouts and communicate shortages or overages to management.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Communicate fashion and music trends to management and HQ partners.
• Ensure store security by working with management to prevent theft and misuse of spells and wizardry.
• Support store maintenance, keeping the stockroom organized and the store tidy.
• Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Minimum 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operational tasks, with a drive to develop your team.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
