Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to assist in training new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty, demonstrating product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Step in and support store operations as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
  • Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
  • Operate the register, process transactions, and promote add-on sales through benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
  • Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
  • Assist with planogram changes, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
  • Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
  • Work with Store Management to prevent theft and misuse of store assets.
  • Help maintain organized stockrooms and a tidy store environment.
  • Contribute to developing and retaining a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
  • Perform any additional activities assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail experience, especially if you love music and pop culture!
  • Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a passion for developing others.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products with approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
