Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return. They’ll be impressed by your product knowledge, customer experience skills, and enthusiasm for music and pop culture.
  • Step in and step up when needed. You’ll cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when your Manager gets pulled away.
  • You’ve got the keys to the store, and you’re not afraid to use them! You’ll open and close the store, as needed.
  • Work the register; you’ll process sales transactions and use your fandom knowledge to drive add-on sales using benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup. You’ll also close out the register and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
  • Understand store sales plan, goals, and key KPIs: UPT and ADT.
  • Assist with planogram changes including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising mix.
  • Share fashion and music trend information with management and HQ partners.
  • Support store security and prevent theft, working with Store Management to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Help maintain the stock room organization and keep the store tidy.
  • Assist in developing and retaining a passionate, collaborative team to run your store.
  • Perform other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail store experience. If you love music and pop culture, you're in the right place!
  • Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop your team.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
