Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, helping fellow fans find the merchandise they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through your product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Support store operations by stepping in on the sales floor and assisting the management team when needed.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
• Operate the register, process sales, and use your fandom expertise to promote add-on sales and services like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
• Understand sales targets, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
• Assist with planogram updates, store layout, and merchandising strategies.
• Communicate fashion and music trends to management and HQ partners.
• Work with store management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
• Help develop a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, preferably with a passion for music and pop culture.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay range: $11.85 - $13.65 per hour. The final salary will depend on education, experience, location, and other factors.
