Job summary

The Dorset Library in Dorset, Vermont seeks a part‑time library coordinator to assist the director with administration, budgeting, and programming. You will provide technical support for patrons and staff, assist with reference services, and help plan and implement community programming, including displays and outreach efforts.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (MLIS preferred) with 1–2 years of library experience and are available for 24–30 hours per week, including some Saturdays

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MLIS preferred.
• 1–2 years progressive library experience including administration and supervising.
• Willing to participate in continuing education to stay current in the library sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for patrons and staff with computers, printers, and devices; maintain computers and software.
• Provide customer services: reference interviews and readers advisory, circulation support.
• Assist with staff supervision and delegation of tasks.
• Prepare surveys and gather data for reporting.
• Assist in selecting and purchasing library materials monthly.
• Process new materials and support cataloging duties.
