Job summary

WSP is seeking a Part Time Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support multiple projects around Atlanta, GA. The role involves soil testing, density testing, and concrete sampling in field and lab settings.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 0-2 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license. Occasional travel within ~2 hours of Atlanta and overtime may be required. Safety and accuracy are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Your Impact

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils
• Perform density testing of soils
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications

• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
