Job summary

Town of Mansfield is seeking two part-time Assistant Building Officials to perform complex building and housing code enforcement work at the Audrey Beck Municipal Building in Mansfield, CT. Positions report to the Director and may supervise staff as assigned.

The selected candidates must be licensed as Assistant Building Officials at hire and hold a valid driver’s license. They will work about 19 hours per week, with potential evening, holiday, or weekend duties during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical inspections.
• Must be licensed as an Assistant Building Official at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex, professional, and technical work in building and housing code enforcement.
• May supervise staff as assigned.
• Serve as Acting Director in the Director's absence.
• Occasionally respond to emergencies requiring a Building Official; may require evening/weekend work.
