Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for a part-time role (Mon–Thu, 7am–12pm) in a machine shop environment. The interpreter will provide accurate ASL interpretation for deaf and hard of hearing employees, and facilitate communication across teams and with supervisors.

The position requires national certification (NIC/CI/CT), 2+ years of industrial/interpreting experience, and fluency in ASL and English.

Qualifications

• National certification as an ASL interpreter (NIC/CI/CT) required.
• 2+ years of ASL interpretation experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Fluency in ASL and English with strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely ASL interpretation for deaf and hard of hearing employees in the machine shop.
• Facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and stakeholders.
• Interpret meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities.
• Develop an understanding of company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
