Job summary

Olympic College in Bremerton, WA seeks two part‑time American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to support the ASL program. You will provide impartial, accurate interpretation between deaf and hearing individuals across classrooms and events, working directly with one ASL faculty member.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and two years’ experience facilitating communication between deaf and hearing individuals; RID certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience facilitating communication between deaf, deaf‑blind, hard of hearing and hearing people.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex academic, technical, and administrative communications during classroom instruction and meetings.
• Interpret college events including commencements, orientations, and student activities.
• Interpret HR meetings, interviews, and professional development sessions.
• Review course materials to prepare for interpreting assignments.
• Research terminology to ensure accurate interpretation.
