Job summary

Frederick County Local Government is seeking an Art Instructor to develop and lead art classes, workshops, and specialty programs offered through Parks & Recreation. You will plan creative, hands-on projects that are engaging and appropriate for participants while providing instruction and guidance that encourages creativity and personal expression.

The role requires clear communication of program needs and supply requirements to Parks & Recreation staff, delivering a positive customer service

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience teaching, facilitating, or leading art activities or programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic art techniques and creative processes.
• Skill in communication and organization.
• Ability to independently prepare and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate art programs and interact effectively with participants and families.

Arrives prepared and on time for all scheduled programs.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Work is performed primarily indoors in a recreational or classroom environment and may involve exposure to art supplies and materials used in conducting programs.
