Job summary

Allied Universal in Long Island City, NY, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – Armed Patrol. You will monitor government transportation facilities, deter incidents, verify credentials, and provide professional customer service.

This role offers flexible hours, training opportunities, and a pathway to additional shifts through our Claim a Shift platform. Must meet licensing requirements and be 21+ with a valid armed permit.

Qualifications

• Valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit required.
• Valid Armed Guard Card/License required.
• Valid Law Enforcement Officer License required.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per federal, state and local laws.
• Armed positions may require additional licensing per local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees and the public while following site procedures and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities and areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and in accordance with post orders and laws.
• Maintain required reports, logs and incident documentation and operate communications equipment per site procedures.
