Job summary

Tidewater Community College is seeking an Architecture / Computer-Aided Drafting Adjunct for the Portsmouth campus. The adjunct will teach courses aligned with program outcomes, in person or remotely via Zoom, and provide timely feedback to students to support learning.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor or Associate degree in Architecture or Engineering Technology with relevant teaching competency and at least two years of related work experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Architecture or Engineering Technology with teaching competency.
• Two years of related work experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in electronic format.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
• Align course activities with student learning outcomes for the course; employ active learning strategies and appropriate technology; provide prompt and meaningful feedback.
• Deliver instruction in support of stated learning outcomes; conduct meaningful assessments and implement action plans based on evaluations.
• Responsibilities may include work during the day, evening and/or weekend as determined by the course(s) assigned.
• Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
