Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Studio Arts to teach courses at the Norfolk campus (710) or remotely via Zoom. This part-time position focuses on delivering instruction, providing timely feedback, and promoting student learning across diverse backgrounds.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Studio Arts (or related with 18 graduate credits in Studio Arts) and can teach synchronously.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a Studio Arts discipline or a Master's with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a Studio Arts discipline.
Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.
Ability to teach synchronously (in-person, hybrid, or ZOOM) at the Norfolk campus.

Responsibilities

Create a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
Align course activities with student learning outcomes; employ active learning strategies and appropriate technology; provide prompt, meaningful feedback.
Deliver instruction in support of learning outcomes; adhere to policies for student surveys; conduct meaningful assessments and respond with action plans as needed.
Responsibilities may include day, evening, and/or weekend work as determined by assigned courses.
Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
