Job summary

West Suburban YMCA in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to monitor pool conditions, enforce safety rules and respond quickly to emergencies. The role requires current lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid and AED, and a minimum age of 15.

The Lifeguard will work with YMCA staff to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for members and guests, performing routine pool maintenance and incident reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Pass an advanced swimming and rescue skills test.
• Lifeguard certification (YMCA or Red Cross) is required.
• Must be at least 15 years old.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED certifications must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and surrounding areas.
• Enforce health and safety rules and maintain emergency readiness.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA policies.
• Provide welcoming, caring and respectful service to members and guests.
• Set up and take down equipment for recreational swims.
• Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
