Job summary

Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ seeks a part-time instructor for Spring 2026 to teach a 200-level Anthropology of the Middle East course. The successful candidate will manage syllabus creation, delivery of lectures, office hours, and timely assessments and grading.

Course appointments may include day, evening, weekend, online, hybrid, or remote instruction based on department needs. Prior teaching experience is preferred; MA or ABD/PhD in Anthropology required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: MA or ABD /PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field; prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course material and create a syllabus.
• Present material during assigned course times.
• Hold office hours and provide out-of-class time for students.
• Respond to student emails and inquiries promptly.
• Conduct and grade assessments, including assignments and exams.
• Submit final grades for the course.
