Job summary

AmeriCorps State / National in New Jersey is seeking a part‑time Youth Program Assistant to support the Youth Education Academy. You will supervise daily activities, assist in academic and enrichment efforts, and help promote social and emotional growth for students.

You will communicate with parents and staff, maintain records, and develop age‑appropriate lesson plans while modeling teamwork and respectful behavior.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to youth education and safe supervision.
• Ability to work with parents and staff.
• Experience in afterschool or youth programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily program activities, ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and supervisors to support student success.
• Maintain attendance and incident records and keep environment clean and organized.
• Lead and assist in academic, recreational and enrichment activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, promoting patience and teamwork.
• Develop age‑appropriate lesson plans aligned with program goals.
