Job summary

Sentara Community Care Center Union Mission in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Part‑time Registered Nurse for Physician Practice. The role supports outpatient care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic, including triage, procedures, and patient education.

Responsibilities include coordination with physicians, documentation in the EHR, and population health outreach. Requires ADN; BSN preferred, RN license, BLS, and 1–2 years ambulatory experience.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX-RN; BLS required; AMB-BC preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manage patient messages and results within scope.
• Support population health outreach and preventive care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
