Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Physician Practice and Clinic Registered Nurse to provide outpatient nursing care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic. You will assess patients, assist with procedures, administer medications and immunizations, and educate patients while coordinating care with physicians and staff.

This role emphasizes triage, follow-up, and population health outreach, with strong focus on accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX-RN passed; BLS required.
• Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Document care in the electronic health record and support population health outreach.
