Job summary

City Garden Montessori School in Missouri is seeking a part-time aftercare helper to supervise students indoors and outdoors, facilitate activities, and maintain attendance records after 3:00–6:00 pm. This role runs for remainder of the 2024-25 school year and Summer School (June 9–July 3, 2025).

Ideal candidates are current college students with experience working with children in school or supervised settings and a strong commitment to equity, anti-bias/anti-racist principles, and dependable

• Babysitting/child care experience comfortable with young children.

Responsibilities

• Safely supervise students indoors and outside, using good judgment in dealing with situations – behavioral, safety, instructional, etc.
• Facilitate activities for students
• Keep accurate attendance records following check-in and check-out procedures

Schedule

• This is for remainder of the 2024-25 (current) school year and Summer School (June 9 through July 3, 2025)
• On days when school is in session; typically Monday through Friday (except for school breaks)
• Aftercare shift is from 3:00 to 6:00 pm

Qualifications

• Loves working with kids!
• Current college student
• Experience working with students in a school or other supervised setting (YMCA, community center, day camp, church, etc.)

• Babysitting/ child care experience and comfortable being with the inquisitive, fun, surprising nature of little ones
• Be flexible to adapt to the changing nature of the work

Compensation

This part-time, non-exempt position pays $19.00 per hour.
