Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking a part-time Youth Counselor to assist with supervising a childcare program at a designated site. You will plan and participate in group activities for children, ensuring safety and engagement throughout each shift.

The role requires a genuine interest in children, CPR/First Aid certification, and availability for program hours. Starting pay includes $11.00 per hour, with youth rates at $10.00 per hour for 16 and 17-year-old counselors.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for children and daily check-ins.

Responsibilities

• Establish positive relationships with participants.
• Plan weekly activities for 10–15 children.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all children.
• Know where all group members are at all times.
• Lead games and activities.
• Take daily attendance and sign-in/out.
• Distribute USDA and HEPA approved snacks/meals.
• Report injuries and incidences to site coordinator.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Develop relationships with school staff and YMCA members.
