Job summary

The Dalton School in Manhattan's Upper East Side is seeking part-time After School Floaters/Assistants for the Afterschool Program. The role is an hourly position with typically 2:45–3:00 PM start and 5:00–5:30 PM end on weekdays, supporting lead instructors and coordinating activities for K-3 or 4th-5th grades.

Responsibilities include attendance records, family communication after school, addressing disruptions, and assisting in specialty classes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education preferred or equivalent experience in schools/childcare settings.
• Ability to supervise specialty classes in the event of teacher absences.
• CPR/First Aid Certified

Responsibilities

• Coordinate classroom activities for general childcare spaces for K-3 or 4th-5 th grades.
• Support lead instructors in classes.
• Negotiate any unplanned classroom disruptions.
• Maintain up to date attendance/dismissal records.
• Communicate with families during after school hours.
• Document and communicate student/instructor concerns with the After School Program Director/Associate Director.
• Assist in specialty classes as needed.
• Background in theater, dance, music, art, STEAM or music a plus.
