Job summary

Nexplore is hiring an in-person instructor to deliver STEM and arts-based instruction at a Camden, NJ site. The part-time role runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM, guiding PreK-12 students with provided curriculum and materials, reporting to the Program Success Manager.

Compensation is $60 per hour per class; training and lesson plans are supplied. Must commit to the full proposed schedule and bring strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• AA Degree (or higher) required.
• 2+ years teaching/instructing experience preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Educational (development or training) experience.
• Teaching degree or certificate is a PLUS!
• Must commit to the full proposed schedule.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willing to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Consistency - Follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (must review lesson plans and materials prior to instruction), and maintain compliance with site expectations.
• Competence - Deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction that cultivates critical thinking, problem solving, and joy in the learning process. Manage all supplied instructional materials.
• Communication - Engage in professional, responsive, effective communication with Nexplore Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Creativity - Deliver inspiring instruction from Nexplore’s collection of 80+ programs, administering accommodations and extensions, as relevant.
• Community - Participate in family engagement efforts (welcome letters, showcases, etc.) and empower each and every child to meaningfully access and engage in Nexplore programs.
