Job summary

Great Hearts Lead Office is seeking an After-School Lead Teacher for the Co-Curricular Programs at our Academy in Chandler. This part-time, seasonal role runs Monday–Friday from dismissal until 6:00 p.m., about 15–20 hours weekly. The position is non-exempt and non-benefited, with hourly pay of $16.50–$17.50.

You will supervise students, facilitate homework and activities, use provided classical curriculum, and model the 9 Core Virtues in daily practice.

Qualifications

• Some college preferred but not required.
• Lead Teachers must have 3 months of experience in a qualifying setting or a degree in education/related field.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting.
• Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.
• Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.
• Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
• Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.
• Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.
• Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.
• Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.
• Substitute at another campus when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
