Job summary

A local education organization is seeking energetic Counselors to work with children at Glen Allen Elementary School. This part-time role involves developing nurturing relationships while guiding a group of elementary-age children through educational activities. Candidates must have a relevant degree and an early childhood certificate, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The position offers an hourly rate starting at $16.00 and approximately 20 – 25 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 6 months of programmatic experience with children.
• Experience preferred in areas like songs/music, arts/crafts, science, math, literacy, drama, physical education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver program lesson plans appropriately.
• Engage with assigned children for high participation.
• Ensure safety of children in the group.
• Assist with homework and encourage academic progress.
• Provide positive role modeling.
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training.
