Job summary

Right At School in Glenview, IL, is hiring a Part-Time Educator to deliver engaging after-school activities at Avoca West Elementary and throughout the district. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM, with opportunities to contribute to lesson materials, attendance, and safety.

You will guide students through a dynamic daily curriculum, model positive behavior, assist with homework, lead fitness activities, and collaborate with the Program Manager to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years old.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and meet state-specific requirements (CPR, Mandated Reporter).

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, document attendance and observations.
• Deliver dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social learning.
• Model positive guidance and maintain safety and well-being of children while supporting homework and activities.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Model positive guidance and classroom management to ensure safety and attention of all children.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding progress and accountability.

Part-Time After-School Staff We Call Our Educators!

Educator: $16-$19 per hour (based on education and experience)

Location: Glenview School District is located in Glenview, IL 60091 at the Avoca West Elementary location. Candidates should be open to working at any of the locations within the district.

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 2:45PM-6:00 PM (must be able to work schedule Monday through Friday)

You’ll drive the mission by:

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents and other observations
• Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way
• Using your coursework training and our in-person training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play
• Excellent communication skills with varied audience including children, parents, staff and school personnel
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children
• Meets regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability
