Job summary

Tube Specialties, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a part-time role on our Tool Room team. You will read blueprints, machine precision parts, and contribute to tooling design and fixtures using SolidWorks.

The position emphasizes hands-on work, with flexible hours (20-25 hours/week) and opportunities to apply CAD/CAM skills while maintaining high quality and tight tolerances in aerospace tooling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years as Tool Maker required.
• Prior press work experience required.
• CNC, CAM, Fadal and Milltronics experience preferred.
• Basic CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and design tooling, dies, and assemblies.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools to shape parts to precise dimensions.
• Fit, assemble, and repair dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures using machine and hand tools.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.
• Run test cycles on completed tools and dies, inspect for defects, and make adjustments.
• Recommend design improvements to tooling and fixtures using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
