Job summary

Aims Community College seeks an exercise professional to teach courses related to physical fitness and lifelong wellness. You will develop course content, deliver lectures, and assess student learning, including group fitness classes and fitness-program development.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, guiding participants, and addressing emergencies with strong communication and leadership. A pre-employment physical and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate degree in related field with substantial hours of related experience and CPR certification.
• Pre-employment physical exam required; physical effort includes lifting, bending, standing and walking.
• Keep CPR certification current and maintain relevant credentials as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses related to physical fitness and lifelong wellness.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, develop course content, assess student learning and provide academic guidance.
• Instruct group fitness classes and develop fitness programs.
• Ensure safety, supervise equipment use, and address emergencies promptly.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.

Education

Master’s degree (exercise science / health and human performance / exercise physiology)

Bachelor’s degree (exercise science / health and human performance / exercise physiology)

Associate degree (exercise science / health and human performance / exercise physiology)

Pre-employment post-offer physical exam required
