The Department of English at Grand View University is seeking part-time instructors to teach a range of writing and literature courses. Most of the courses are traditional, face-to-face, day classes, but there are occasional opportunities to teach evening or online courses as well. Courses includes (but are not limited to):

• ENGL 100: English Literacies: This course focuses on thedevelopment of functional literacy skills- reading and writing- and helps students advance both for the needs of university work.
• ENGL 101: First Year Composition: This course emphasizes the process model of writing, argument structure, and research.
• ENGL 111: Interpretation of Literature:This course focuses on helping students enjoy, analyze, and communicate their interpretations of a range of literary genres.
• ENGL 212: Good & Evil:This course is thematic and focuses on core ethical and philosophical questions about the nature of good and evil.
• ENGL 309: Writing for Business: This advanced writing course focuses on the rhetoric of business reports through analysis of audience, context, and purpose.
