Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking an Activity Therapy Specialist 2 to plan and facilitate arts-based therapy programs for patients at the Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Campus in Toledo. The role includes conducting therapy sessions, both individual and group, and documenting progress per Joint Commission and CMS standards.

Qualifications

• Position requires 42 months' experience in activity therapy or supervision/work direction or development.
• Alternative: associate degree with 24 months experience in activity therapy.
• Alternative: undergraduate core program with 18 months experience.
• Alternative: 12 months experience as Activity Therapy Specialist 1.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes & facilitates a comprehensive program of recreational, art, or music therapy/adjunctive therapy (AT).
• Conducts therapy sessions using defined therapy techniques & mediums.
• Conducts individual & group therapy sessions for evaluation & skills/performance development.
• Completes documentation to Joint Commission and CMS standards.
• Functions as a primary member of the interdisciplinary treatment team; evaluates patients; formulates & implements individual treatment plans.
