Care New England's Delmonico 2 Adult Dual Diagnosis General Treatment Unit seeks an Activity Therapist/Mental Health Worker to work with unit staff and the interdisciplinary treatment team to plan and lead activity groups that meet the educational, recreational, and social needs of patients in a hospital setting.

Under Occupational Therapist supervision, you promote a safe, therapeutic environment, assist with patients' activities of daily living, and advocate for their needs through respectful

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred.
• Experience with mentally ill clients and activity-based groups preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; collaborative; creative.

Responsibilities

• Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, monitoring, interacting and providing groups.
• When assigned, assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically activities of daily living.
• Provides role as patient advocate through modeling standards and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service.
