Job summary

The Village of St. Edward, a not-for-profit community in Wadsworth, OH, seeks a Part Time Activities Assistant to enhance resident life with engaging programs for seniors.

You will help plan, organize, and lead activities that support recreation, spiritual development, and social interaction in a caring, Christ-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Walk, stand and sit intermittently during the day.
• Availability to work on weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
• Occasionally works with animals.
• Must understand the needs of older adults and plan activities accordingly.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Activities Assistant assists in organizing, directing and carrying out a program of activities which covers spiritual development, recreation, diversion, intellectual/educational development for residents as an integral part of total resident care.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.

• Occasionally works with animals
• Must have an understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of older adults on a continuum of care campus and must be able to plan and organize activities geared to these needs.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm and must be able to work effectively with people.
• Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation
