Job summary

The Next Door Recovery is hiring a part-time Accounts Payable & Billing Specialist in Nashville to manage vendor invoices, maintain accurate records, and assist in healthcare billing. The role emphasizes timely payments, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards and healthcare regulations.

You will support the AP process and client billing, ensuring HIPAA and payer regulations are observed while contributing to monthly close and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and healthcare revenue cycle basics.
• Experience with QuickBooks and basic billing tools.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely; ensure tax-exempt status where applicable.
• Maintain vendor files (W-9s, documents) and reconcile statements; address discrepancies.
• Assist month-end close and AP accruals; support journal entries as needed.
• Support healthcare billing and client statements; assist with Charity Care policies as needed.

Job Title: Accounts Payable & Billing SpecialistReports to: Director of FinanceLocation: NashvilleClassification: Part time, ExemptMission:The mission of The Next Door Recovery is to provide a continuum of evidence-based substance abuse and mental health services for women in an environment of faith and healing to restore hope and a lifetime of recovery.Position Summary:This position is responsible for managing the organization's accounts payable process and supporting healthcare billing functions. This position ensures timely payment of vendors, accurate financial records and assist in billing management of clients, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and healthcare regulations.
