Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping or tax preparation; public accounting preferred.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Understanding of reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial statements.
• Experience preparing individual tax returns; business tax experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort learning accounting and tax software.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments independently and recognize when CPA guidance is needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client books in QuickBooks Online, including transaction classification and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly closings and prepare draft financial statements.
• Research discrepancies and prepare proposed adjusting entries for CPA review.
• Support payroll reconciliations, year-end reporting, and accounting cleanup.
