Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting or finance or 18 graduate credits in the discipline plus a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
• Moderate amount of industry experience working in accounting
• Experience or interest in advanced accounting, cost accounting, managerial accounting, financial accounting, hospitality accounting, or other areas of accounting
• Ability to teach classes during daytime hours

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned course(s) on campus by delivering appropriate course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, and addressing students' questions and concerns
• Teaches assigned course(s) online by delivering course content and assessments using the university's learning management system
• Prepares and maintains course site in the learning management system and updates grade center
• Maintains accurate records of student attendance and performance
• Distributes syllabus with objectives, materials, attendance policy, and evaluation criteria
• Communicates with student, department chair, and academic counselor for students at risk of failure
• Refers students to university services
• Populates faculty information system with teaching credentials
• Attends faculty orientation and meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned
