Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Building Access Control in Santa Ana, CA for a part-time, mix-shift role. Pay rate is $23.25 per hour with shifts including days and overnights, providing access control, patrols, and customer service at a cultural institution.

You will monitor entry points, deter incidents, document activities, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors while using tech to support security operations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted where required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories where permitted by law.
• A drug screen may be required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a cultural institution by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control practices.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols through galleries, public spaces, and surrounding areas to identify hazards or concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify authorized entry per site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and concerns calmly and report to appropriate contacts or responders.
• Prepare accurate reports and shift documentation regarding patrols and incidents.
