Job summary

Allied Universal in Leeds, AL is seeking a part-time Security Officer Access Monitor to help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and safeguard employees and visitors.

The role offers weekend shifts (Sat/Sun, mornings) with a focus on customer service and using technology to document security-related activity. A guard card is preferred; high school diploma required and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points at an industrial manufacturing location, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the facility, direct deliveries and contractor traffic as assigned, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
