Job summary

Allied Universal in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to guard cultural institution facilities, monitor access, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff.

You will perform unarmed patrols, report incidents, and assist with logs and shift documentation while adhering to site policies and safety procedures. This role offers flexible daytime shifts and opportunities to grow within a dynamic security team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, vendors, and/or guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, offices, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
