Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Access Credential Review Security Officer in San Pedro, CA to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and provide professional customer service while maintaining safety.

The role offers a flexible schedule (Mon/Tue 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM), a $20/hour pay rate, and opportunities to learn our Claim a Shift platform, with essential requirements including 1 year security experience, HS diploma,

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points for a logistics and distribution location; verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and document arrivals and departures in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with controlling vehicle and pedestrian access at gates, docks, and/or other designated entry points while maintaining accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading dock locations, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
