Job summary

FORD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Laurens, SC is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Interventionist to provide targeted academic interventions and support student achievement. The role reports to the Principal and focuses on literacy, science, social studies, and math to raise achievement.

The Interventionist will collaborate with teachers to implement intervention initiatives, monitor progress, and participate in district professional development as required.

Qualifications

• South Carolina Teacher's Certification and endorsements as appropriate.
• A master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five years teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with other school personnel to develop, implement and evaluate effective interventions for increasing the amount of time students are engaged in learning.
• Interventionists will provide leadership to classroom teachers in implementing intervention initiatives.
• Model exemplary classroom practices and communicate a deep understanding of literacy, science, social studies, and math theory for the purpose of improving student achievement levels.
• Provide explicit, scientifically based instruction and intensive interventions to individuals and/or small groups for the purpose of improving achievement levels. Implement and/ or facilitate the classroom teacher implementing the assigned intervention (s) with fidelity.
• Monitor and communicate student progress.
• Participate in district professional development related to job and attend meetings, trainings and professional development as required outside of designated schedule.

Education
